Artist Statement
My background is in photojournalism, so naturally, my approach to Denver wedding photography is photojournalistic in style. I use a "fly on the wall" method for capturing all the candid moments that make your wedding unique. Additionally, I have extensive studio photography experience, and understand the importance of crafting light to create the highest quality images possible.
My Philosophy
I believe in flexibility. You have a lot of things to worry about on your wedding day and your photos shouldn't be one of them. Have an idea for a fun photo? Let's do it. Need help gathering family members? Done. Want me to stay longer? No problem. I work my hardest to make your wedding as relaxing as possible.
Printing: All photos from your event are yours to print at no extra charge. You'll receive a DVD with enhanced high-resolution images as well as a printing release form, allowing you to make as many prints as you'd like without having to go through me. That said, if you would prefer I handle printing, just let me know and I'll set you up with what you need.
Travel: I love to travel, so I don't charge extra for long-distance weddings. If you're having your wedding out of state or in some remote part of Colorado, I have you covered. Destination wedding? Even better. Contact me and we'll make it happen.

Jesse's Bio
Raised in a family of traveling artists, Denver wedding photographer Jesse La Plante excelled in many mediums from a very young age—drawing, street performing and jewelry-making, among others—before finding his true niche in photography.
In May of 2007, Jesse received his Bachelor of Science in photojournalism from Central Michigan University, which offers one of the top journalism programs in the country, uniquely combining both classroom and applied learning.
During his senior year, Jesse took full advantage of the hands-on opportunities at CMU; he began shooting for newspapers all across Michigan, including the Jackson Citizen Patriot, the Adrian Daily Telegram and the Clare Sentinel.
In June of 2008, with the decline of the journalism industry, Jesse began exploring other photographic avenues. He spent a few months photographing the American West before settling in Boulder, Colorado, where he soon began shooting weddings. He has since been fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph weddings in some of the most beautiful and iconic venues in Colorado, from the untamed Wild Basin Lodge to the urbane Denver Art Museum.
Jesse also works out of a studio in Denver, where he does commercial work for a variety of local publications. In addition, he shoots an eclectic array of portraits, from senior and family to fashion and models (he photographed and self-published the "2011 Colorado Girls" calendar with CU students) to his more avant-garde art series.
In addition to his passion for photography, Jesse also has a love of traveling. In the past several years, Jesse has documented his travel through 14 foreign countries and 49 United States. From the Tasman Sea to the Mediterranean, the Costa Rican jungle to the Redwood Forest, the lava tubes on the Big Island of Hawai’i to the the “Tube” in London, the Eiffel Tower to the maquette in Las Vegas, Jesse has roamed, camera at the ready.
